Its Tua time in Miami!! It’s unknown how Tua will perform, but he’s taking over for Fitzmagic who was QB11 on the season going into their Week 7 BYE. Fitzpatrick was playing good & had posted 23+ Fantasy Pts in 4 of the Dolphins 6 games this season! It might be a homer pick, but Tua is worth a waiver claim in my opinion. As he should be able to put up similar, if not better numbers than Fitzpatrick for The Dolphins.
See Atlanta Falcons defense.. Who continue to give up 310+ passing yards in every game so far this season. Last time Bridgewater played The Falcons back in Week 5 he had 313 yards & 2 TDs.
This week he has a home game vs a terrible Falcons pass defense, sign me up!
See Cowboys defense.. Wentz, even with a banged-up O-Line & lack of offensive weapons, has been finding ways to put up fantasy points. In large part to his 5 rushing TDs, that is 2nd most in the NFL behind just Kyler Murray. This week he’s at home & has had extra time to prepare for a bad Cowboys defense that’s given up 25+ Pts in 6 of their 7 games this season.
-RUNNING BACK ADDS-
Probably the #1 waiver wire pick up this week is Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds. Kenyan Drake left Sunday Night’s game with an ankle injury & is reported to have a slight tear in a ligament which will keep him out for a couple weeks. With no Drake, Edmonds has Top 10 upside in a good Cardinals offense. He was already the main pass catching RB with Drake receiving the bulk of the carries, but now it looks like Edmonds will be the workhorse for The Cardinals and could potentially see 20+ touches each week!
Miles Sanders is expected to miss another game & like I said for Carson Wentz, see Cowboys defense. Boston Scott played 69% of the snaps Thursday Night against The Giants & had 15 touches for 92 scrimmage yards & a game winning TD for The Eagles. With a Week 9 BYE, its possible that The Eagles keep Miles Sanders out until Week 10 to give him extra time to recover.
We said it several times on the podcast, go get Gio! With Mixon missing practice all week with a foot injury. If you listened to us and grabbed Gio you were not disappointed. He played 76% of the snaps & had 18 total touches for 96 scrimmage yards & a TD. Mixon is still dealing with the foot injury & could miss next week’s game as well especially with The Bengals on a BYE in Week 9. Which would give him more time to rest and recover. If Mixon’s out, Gio is IN your lineup!
Chris Carson left Monday night’s game with a mid-foot sprain, that is expected to keep him sidelined for some time. With Carson out, Carlos Hyde stepped in and got 18 touches for 76 scrimmage yards & a TD. If Carson misses time, Hyde becomes the featured back on one of the best offenses in the NFL. He is dealing with some Hamstring tightness so monitor it, but if both Carson & Hyde are out it would be a combo of Travis Homer & Deejay Dallas for the Seahawks
We expected Perine to be more involved with Le’Veon Bell being released. In the 2 games post Bell, Perine has played 58% and 70% of the snaps. Now Frank Gore isn’t going away anytime soon, especially since Adam Gase loves him, but Perine looks to become the feature back for The Jets. He is the future, Gore is not.
With Aaron Jones a late scratch, Jamal Williams stepped in and received 23 touches to AJ Dillions 5. Williams looked good finishing with 114 scrimmage yards & a TD. Aaron Jones could return this week. Either way, Jamal Williams is worth a pickup in case Jones misses another game, reaggravates the calf injury or to at least handcuff Aaron Jones in The Packers backfield.
I know Jeff Wilson Jr had the big game for the 49ers last week, but he left the game with an injury and is expected to miss some time. Also, Mostert is still on IR for a couple more weeks. Leaving just McKinnon & JaMycal Hasty left. But Tevin Coleman is slated to return this week off IR and is an interesting pick up. It’s like playing Russian roulette with these 49ers RBs, but if you pick the right one, you have a good chance at RB1 upside.
RAVENS RBs (DOBBINS & GUS EDWARDS):
This backfield has been a mess with the thruple of RBs The Ravens deploy each week, but Mark Ingram is dealing with a “minor” ankle injury that could possibly keep him limited or have him miss a game or 2. These RBs are great insurance policies or potentially BYE week/Injury replacements if Ingram was to miss any time.
AVAILABLE – DOBBINS: 45+%
GUS EDWARDS: 90+%
-Wide Receiver Adds-
In his 1st game back since Week 2, Shepard was the best player for The Giants last Thursday Night. Catching 6 passes for 59 yards & a TD. He was 2nd in team targets with 8, behind Evan Engrams 9. With fellow Giants WR Darius Slayton being shadowed by Darius Slay the whole game, which limited Slayton’s upside, Shepard took advantage of his opportunities. Its hard to predict week to week who will be the main target in this offense, but Shepard is worth a roster spot in what should continue to be a pass happy Giants offense.
Coming off a career game with 6 receptions and 115 yards on Sunday vs The Patriots. Brandon Aiyuk needs to be added in all leagues, especially since fellow 49ers WR Deebo Samuel hurt his hamstring and will be sidelined for some time. His role should be expanded & Aiyuk is a versatile rookie who is involved in both the pass & running game. He has 2 rushing TDs so far this season.
Did you know that Cole Beasley is WR 19 in PPR leagues right now? One of the most under rated players in the NFL, he has quietly been a PPR machine & Josh Allen’s safety blanket. Scoring 10+ PPR Pts in all 7 games this season!
The Titans have been one of the best offenses in the NFL and Corey Davis has been apart of that. Scoring 12+ PPR Pts in all 4 games he has played this season. Next week The Titans play against The Bengals who have given up the 10th most yards to WRs.
Kirk has been hot like Hansel lately, posting 11+ PPR Pts in 4 straight weeks & he’s scored 5 TDs during that 4-week span! Of course, D Hop is the target machine in this offense, but Kirk is finding the endzone. The Cardinals are on a BYE this week, so he is a stash play going forward.
-TIGHT END ADDS-
With Austin Hooper out due to an emergency appendectomy, it was rookie TE Harrison Bryant who showed up big on Sunday with 2 TDs! Hooper is likely to miss next week’s game too & then the Browns have a BYE in Week 9. So, Bryant’s value is probably only going to last 1 more week with Austin Hooper returning in Week 10 after The Browns BYE. He is more of a streaming option this week rather than a long-term play.
Hooper had to miss last weeks game to get his appendix removed & its likely he will miss this week’s game too. Then the Browns have a BYE in Week 9, so he is probably going to be dropped in a lot of leagues. If he is on the waiver wire I would go grab him and stash him going forward. With OBJ out for the year with a torn ACL, The Browns need weapons and Hooper was starting to turn it on before missing last week’s game. Posting 10+ PPR Pts in 3 straight weeks with 5 receptions in all 3 of those games.
Since returning from IR, Trey Burton has led The Colts TEs in targets in all 3 games he has played. Receiving 5+ targets each game & we all know how much Phillip Rivers likes to target his TE. This week The Colts play the Detroit Lions, which is a tough matchup for TEs, but The Lions just got gashed by Falcons TE Hayden Hurst for 6 receptions & 68 yards on 7 targets.
IRV SMITH JR:
The Vikings are coming off a BYE, But Irv Smith Jr has posted 10+ PPR Pts in his last 2 games. The 2nd year TE out of Alabama is starting to get more involved in this Vikings passing attack. Recording 4 catches & 55+ yds in back 2 back games.
